The Digital Transformation Agency is hosting a Deep Dive session on 19 July 2022 to delve into the Australian Government Architecture product which:

    • provides guidance to agencies on how to deliver capabilities faster and in a way that is consistent, interoperable, promotes reuse, represents less risk and ensures value for money
    • sets clear signals for industry in describing the way in which capabilities are expected to be delivered
    • supports agency decision-making and creates transparency by publishing standards and patterns for digital and ICT capabilities
    • identifies gaps in capabilities and emerging technology where investment is required.

The Australian Government Architecture Deep Dive (held on Tuesday 19 July 2022) recording and slides are available here: AGA Deep Dive Recording and Slides.

Here is a selection of some questions and answers from the Deep Dive:
Q: Is it intended that defined components in the architecture will be able to be related to Programs (budget sense) as well?
A: Yes, there will be defined components in the architecture, related to programs in the Budget sense. For example, myGov or Digital Identity are simple examples of government programs that will be well defined standards for use within their relevant domains.

Q: Is the Digital and ICT investment framework and its compliance and reporting obligations mandatory for Corporate Commonwealth Agencies? Similarly, is it mandatory if the CCE is already using the Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines (not its own implementation of these)?
A: All Agencies developing, bringing forward or implementing digital and ICT-enabled investments in the budget context are subject to the requirements of the Oversight Framework. This is part of the budget process operation rules as distinct from the procurement rules.
