LearnHub & LinkedIn Learning

LearnHub is the Australian Government’s online learning and development platform for the APS. There are two areas to access learning resources in LearnHub - via "Catalogue" in the top right and via the "LinkedIn Learning" button at the bottom of the screen. Access to LearnHub and LinkedIn Learning is managed by your agency. Please speak with your HR or L&D team to see if you have access.

APS Academy

The APS Academy offers a wide range of courses including virtual and face-to-face, to support your work and career in the APS. You can register for these courses through APSLearn.

APSLearn also includes a range of e-learning modules for instant access. Courses you can take through the catalogue directly relate to digital capability include; data literacy, creative thinking at work, dealing with change, managing remote teams, planning and managing change, SFIA (Skills Framework for the Information Age) and transitioning to remote work.

There is also a GovTeams section of the catalogue where you can access resources so you can learn at your own pace and in your own way, rather than sign up for the courses.

Please note, the APS Academy is moving to a new learning management system in 2022. If you have commenced but not completed an eLearning module, please ensure you have completed it by Friday 28 January.

Microsoft training

Microsoft offers regularly training session, many of which are free. Most are currently virtual, however as restrictions ease these will return to in person.

Apolitical is an organisation made up of public servants from around the world. They share their tips and ideas, and you can do micro courses.

Code Academy

Free basic classes, and paid member content, in subjects like web development, data science, ML, and developer skills. (free/paid)

Girl Geek Academy
Mainly offers programs for school-aged girls, but does run some hack-a-thons for women too (paid)

A range of free learning content on data and tech, digital marketing and career development. You can select individual modules, or take an entire course end-to-end (free)
